Winnisquam Marine's new Davis Instruments Vantage Vue weather station is up and running! We are building a data file and very soon we will be posting to this website. You'll have outside temperature, wind speed, wind direction, humidity, barometric pressure and more... Especially exciting will be an accurate lake water temperature updated every minute. Most data is updated every 2.5 seconds. So- forget about Weather Bug!, come here when you want to know what's happening out at the sandbar.

02-07-10 7:11AM SUPER BOWL SUNDAY

Nobody out there fishing today on Lake Winnisquam today. Everybody's back home getting tuned up for the big game.

Hopefully in the not too distant future- we'll all be tuning up our boats and heading out to the sandbar to see our friends again !! Boating is definitely done till mid April when we ice-out. So you might as well accept it and move on. Move on to the winter Boat Shows that is. You can get relief at the Boston Boat Show February 20-28, 2010. Winnisquam Marine will be there with Premier Pontoon and Lowe Fishing Boats. Please stop by if you're suffering from, "noboatingitis". Winnisquam Marine has the fix.

The lake has been without snow now since the big meltdown (1/26 rainstorm) 3 weeks ago. Without the snow on the lake, the lake ice has been unbelievably noisy. Really 24/7. Our guess is that without the insulating, sound deadening, snow cover and the 10-15F days we've been having this week the ice is expanding. Thus- expanding ice equals cracking equals noisy ice. Just look at the new reef (pressure ridge) forming right in the bottom of the picture. Right now- day or night you can hear the cracking noise move from right to left or left to right just about every few minutes.

AHHH- just another one of the big bene's of living on the lake- Ya get to hear the ice cracking 24/7. (sometimes it's so loud the dog barks at it)
